We selected West Coast Building and Design to demolish an existing detached garage and build a custom, Spanish style, 2-story structure with a garage on the first floor and ~1,000 sq foot grandparent’s suite on the second story. It was a complicated build and we are incredibly happy with the results. Not only are we happy with the results, Rene stayed on budget and was great at communicating, reasonable and helped guide us through the process. He performed the services requested with quality work and provided great value.

Ever since I bought my home 11 years ago, with its big sloping backyard, I knew I’d want to develop the unused space someday. I contacted West Coast Building and Design, and we brainstormed together. One year later, we have transformed the space into a beautifully manicured one-bedroom ADU that looks like it should be in a Pottery Barn advertisement. With vaulted ceilings, polished bathroom tile, and sleek matching cabinets and countertops in the kitchen and bath, I almost want to move in to the space myself and rent out my main home instead.
Of course with any project of this magnitude, there were hiccups and challenges. Trenching in the utilities was one of several major hurdles. But Rene and his team were always responsive, solution-oriented, and willing to soldier on. I made various changes to the design plans along the way, but these were always accommodated. Special shoutouts to Kevin, Rigo & AJ, as well!
